We have approximately 16,000 cubic yards of mulch compost available to the public and for free! According the University of Georgia Extension office, the compost from our inert pit would be a good soil amendment for anyone wanting to add organic matter to their soil profile. Over time the compost will break down and will supply the soil with nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
Our staff will be glad to assist in the loading of trucks and trailers at the pit as long as it is done during normal business hours.

The Tall Timbers play area of Chason Park will be closed to play for the next 24 hours so that maintenance can be performed to the turf and it have enough time to set before we open it to play again. This consists of climbing wall and slide play areas.
All other areas of the park, including the splash pad, will remain open.
We apologize for any inconvenience but our attention to maintenance now will prevent future closings of play areas.
